Car wreck

bustedupcar

Got into a fairly serious car accident this weekend. I was in the left lane after the toll booth on Exit 18 off of I90 East. Somebody in the right lane veered into me and slammed into my front right wheel. It hit me so hard the car went forty-five degrees, with only the two left wheels still on the ground. Fortunately my car Constantine righted himself, and I was able to get to a little ramp off to the side of the road, but the other car kept going. Never stopped, never got his information. I called a cop, who was not that helpful, only told me to go file a police report. Constantine doesn't look too bad on the outside, but he was too broken up to drive home-- I'm pretty sure the front axle is shot, as the car wouldn't turn on that side without pinning the wheel all the way around --so I had it towed to my mechanic's. bronzite was kind enough to come pick me up and take me home. I'm not hurt at all, so it could have been a lot worse, but this will likely be a costly and time-consuming fix. Not what I need right now, when things seem to all be breaking down one by one.

Oh my goodness. At least you are safe! If it was very close to the tolls that area is highly video monitored. They might have gotten it on tape. The other car would have had some kind of damage as well. Did you at least see what color it was or where the license plate was from? This really sucks. I hope it all works out for you! If it helps, I get discounted parts for working at Autozone part time. If the parts are too expensive I could see how cheap I could get them with my discount.

Thank you, and that is incredibly kind of you to offer. I think I'm set with my insurance, but it means so much to hear.

Argh! One more thing you don't need. And major tool points to the other person for just driving off. Still, very glad to hear that you are okay.

What the others said. So sorry this happened, but glad you're ok!! My work schedule is flexible enough that I might be able to provide rides during the day if you need them. Just let me know.

So sorry to hear this :( Cars are frustrating; moreso when other people act like idiots. I am glad you are all right and have excellent friends offering you help.

You're OK, which is what counts. Glad to hear that after such a scary-sounding encounter.
