Neat new pants

As a break from my real life, here's something utterly trivial. I just found the neatest new pants.

They're mostly wool tweed in a neat houndstooth crisscross in shades of black, tan, and red. But the waistband is dark brown leather, very wide, with two snaps and a button closure on the right side. Kind of retro, kind of modern at the same time. Also they fit me like a glove, even my long thighs, sitting right where I like them on my waist and the hem hitting exactly beneath my ankle. Here's a closeup of the leather waistband.

They're kind of dressy but not too formal, so I think I can dress them up or down. Although it just occurs to me that with the leather they're dry clean only, which is a pain. But I like them a lot and hope I can incorporate them into my wardrobe.
