I spent the day planning a piece, which is definitely necessary writing work, but it did not result in anything postable. So I'm posting another Hood scene to stand in. This occurs directly after Day #7 - Let the Grown Ups Handle It.

Also, I got encouraging news about the Hood pilot yesterday, so this is in a way to celebrate that. More on this later!

INT. ROBIN’S OFFICE – EVENING

Scarlet works at her laptop while Robin paces furiously.

ROBIN
Can you believe the stones on them? Wouldn’t have thought that little pissant John would have it in him. And you, you traitor! Giving them all the intel behind my back.

SCARLET
They’re my bosses, Robin. Unlike you, I can’t just tell them to go screw themselves.

ROBIN
You could have got me there first!

SCARLET
No force in the universe could get you anywhere you don’t want to be.

ROBIN
Jesus, you sound like Marian.

SCARLET
Well, she kind of had a point. Everybody called you.

ROBIN
What an effort! You’re a goddamn hero.

SCARLET
Yeah, be a dick to the only person helping you. Smart move.

ROBIN
Well, sorry, I’m pissed! And starving, where the hell is the damn pizza?

SCARLET
It’s coming! Guess nobody else is allowed to be a little late.

ROBIN
It isn’t just the stupid meeting! They threw me out like— some kid who can’t be trusted in a crisis!

SCARLET
Yeah, where would they get the idea that they can’t count on you?

ROBIN
Hey! When you were getting glass-ceilinged over at Calais Labs, who brought you on and made them give you a real shot? Who could you count on then?

SCARLET
All right, fine. So what do you want to do?

ROBIN
I want to deal with this! This is my company, if there’s a problem, I’m not going to leave it to a bunch of empty suits.

SCARLET
We don’t even know what happened. And it looks like everything about the incident’s been encrypted in the database.

ROBIN
Use my credentials!

SCARLET
I did. They’re encrypted from you.

ROBIN
Are you kidding me? I’m the president!

His seething is cut off as the intercom buzzes. Scarlet hits the button.

ASSISTANT
Your pizza’s here, Ms. Scathlock.

SCARLET
Thank you, send them up. Look, Robin, Monarch owns Locksley now. If they don’t want you in this, you’re not going to be.

ROBIN
Screw that. They’re not keeping me out of my own files. Unless… you can't crack the encryption?

SCARLET
Are you kidding? All I'd need is physical access to the server. And a suicidal indifference to whether or not I keep my job.

ROBIN
Then I’ll get you access.

SCARLET
How? They’re not going to let us just walk right up to it.

There’s a knock at the door, and Robin lets in a delivery guy, dressed in a jacket and hat and carrying the pizza.

DELIVERY GUY
That’ll be eighteen twenty-six.

Robin grins at him as he’s struck with an idea.

ROBIN
How’d you like to make a five hundred dollar tip?
